2014 Halloween Events in Louisville

How is your family celebrating Halloween this year? It’s the weekend before the big day, which means you have a lot of fun events to explore! Children will enjoy dawning their costumes prior to the big night. There is no shortage of Halloween Events in Louisville this year. Keep reading to see what’s going on around town.

Jack O’ Lantern Stroll

Come see what Slugger Field looks like from the outfield, aglow with over 1,500 jack o’ lanterns. Now in its fourteenth year, this event is produced by Dreams With Wings. It’s a free family friendly event that includes safe trick-or-treating, crafts, games and more.

The city’s largest pumpkin pie will be on site from Heitzman’s Traditional Bakery. The Louisville League of Mascots will entertain, as will live music provided by George Lindsey of 102.3 The Max. Get dressed in your favorite costume, bring a bag for candy and come ready to have fun!

Dreams With Wings is an agency that offers programs for adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They have a great mission and are making a difference in Louisville! The Jack O’ Lantern Stroll takes place Friday, October 24th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Slugger Field.

Fright Light Halloween Party

The Rauch Planetarium is hosting their Fright Light Halloween Party this weekend. Children will enjoy receiving treats while engaging in a lot of cool activities. The highlight of course will be the Fright Light Laser Show.

The planetarium will host special presentations of the Fright Light laser show all month. At the party shows will take place on the hour starting at 1:00 p.m.

The Fright Light Halloween Party is Saturday, October 26th from 1:00 to 5:30 p.m. Admission is $5.00 per person. The Rauch Planetarium is located at the University of Louisville.

Boo Dell at Yew Dell Gardens

Round out your weekend with a trip to Boo Dell! Yew Dell is hosting their Halloween party on Saturday, October 25th. Guests will enjoy trick-or-treating on the Trail-o-Treats. Local groups will offer activities, characters and more as you wonder through the grounds.

Mr. Magic will stun and amaze guests from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Boo Dell is open Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Yew Dell Gardens is located at 6220 Old LaGrange Rd. in Crestwood.

Community Halloween Parties

Some of the best Halloween Events in Louisville are in local neighborhoods or parks. Brown Park is hosting their annual event this Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy over fifty candy booths sponsored by local businesses. Add a hayride, activities and bounce houses to make this one of the most favorite Halloween events in Louisville. Brown Park is located at 4007 Kresge Way.

The Jeffersontown PumpkinFest is also this Saturday. Come in your costumes to trick-or-treat along the Gaslight Square. The Paddock Shops will be hosting their Fest-O-Ween on Saturday from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.

After the Fest-O-Ween, you can head to Norton Commons to enjoy their Fall Festival from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Fun Halloween events will include a hay maze, mini-train rides for children and more candy! Norton Commons is located at 10712 Meeting Street.
