2014 NuLu Fest
Fall is officially here! Leaves across Louisville are starting to change colors. The temperature is slightly cooler, creating the perfect evening temperatures for roaring bonfires. As we head into late September, it’s a great time to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. What about the urban landscape of Louisville?
This weekend is the annual NuLu Fest. Now in its sixth year, the NuLu Fest is a great opportunity to enjoy the gorgeous fall weather we’ve been having. It’s an even better chance to check out what everyone’s talking about when they say NuLu.
The festival will run along the seven and eight hundred blocks of East Market Street on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Enjoy the Louisville skyline in the background, as you engage in this street festival. It’s a day of free fun, well, except for what you spend at all the cool vendor booths and stores that line East Market.
Everyone is invited, as there will be activities for all ages to enjoy. Children will enjoy a special play area, full of fun activities to run off their energy. Local Speed will be hosting a free family art activity in conjunction with the NuLu Fest. Matisse-Inspired Art will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A live music stage will feature several bands, including the Louisville Leopard Percussionists, Billy Goat Strut Revue, Nick Dittmeier Band and The Debauchees to name a few. Live music will start at noon and run through 10:45 p.m.
Numerous vendors will be set up along the street. Come see why NuLu is known for its art galleries and unique culture. Nulu is home to many restaurants, several of which are known to use locally grown ingredients. Your taste buds will be happy you came to the NuLu Fest this weekend!
NuLu restaurant Taco Punk just announced that it will be permanently closing its doors on October 3rd after the Trolley Hop. If you want to get your Taco Punk fix, or have been meaning to try it, stop by during the NuLu Fest.
Are you worried about missing the big game on Saturday? If you’re a UL fan, Aluminous Events will be broadcasting the game live from the West 6th Beer Garden, which will be located by Decca. Didn’t we tell you there’s something for everyone?
