4th Annual Louisville Kids Fair

Are your kids driving you crazy from being cooped up this harsh winter? The Louisville Kids Fair is a great opportunity to let the children in your life stretch their limbs this weekend! If you don’t have kids yourself, grab your nieces and nephews, you’re sure to be the coolest aunt or uncle in the world once you get to this high energy, fun event!

In its fourth year, the Louisville Kids Fair is set to be the largest one yet. 150,000 square feet of the International Convention Center downtown will be converted into a child’s play land. The event runs Saturday March 8th from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Sunday March 9th 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. The Fair has events for all ages and will be a great opportunity for children to have fun, run off extra energy, and maybe even learn something along the way.

Highlights include free face painting, life sized robots and board games, and the Mighty Titans obstacle course. You can choose from a round of regular mini golf or a glow in the dark course! The Kentucky State Police will be there with Safety City. Children will also be able to view local fire and safety vehicles. A section of inflatables will be set up, divided by children’s ages so that all kids are safe to jump and play. Hands on activity centers will be set up for families to explore together throughout the day.

A petting zoo will allow children to get close and personal with the animals on hand. Purchase a cup of food for fifty cents to feed the animals. Moms and Dads, get your cameras ready! Pony rides are also available. Character meet and greets will be scheduled throughout the day, where kids can meet and have their pictures taken with Caillou, Curious George and Buddy from Dinosaur Train. Make sure you plan to attend one of three shows from the Kent Family Magic Circus. Their show is the ultimate variety show, with a combination of vaudeville, circus and theatre. This side show is free with admission!

Come prepared, your children are sure to want to check out the additional rides at the Louisville Kids Fair. Rides include a Berry Ride, Charlie Chopper, Euro Bungee, Fun Slide, Merry Go Round and Rock Wall. Rides require two to five tickets, which can be purchased for $1.00 each. Prior to the show you can purchase a wristband online for $20.00. This will give your child unlimited rides, with the exception of the Rock Wall. A limited quantity is available and purchasing online prior to the show is required.
The Fair will also host a variety of venders with booths set up, for both adults and children to shop. A nursing area will be provided at the show. Tot Town is designed specifically for toddlers to enjoy. If your kids get hungry, head to the concessions area where traditional fair food will be sold! If you plan on coming Sunday, bring your child’s grandparents! Sunday is Grandparents Day, where one grandparent will receive free admission for each paid child’s admission.

When you arrive at the KY International Convention, enter at the Riverside Lobby located just west of the Third St. tunnel. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for children ages two through twelve years old. Children two and under are free. Tickets purchased at the door must be paid in cash. Purchase your tickets online to pay with a credit card, also allowing you to take advantage of a special entry line into the fair. Parking is free on the streets during the weekend, or access a local parking garage. For more information about this fun event, visit the Louisville Kids Fair.
