Art Fair & Craft Beer Festival in Bardstown

Are you looking for a short, scenic drive on a beautiful fall day? This is the perfect time of year to travel on a back road. Orange and gold leaves falling with the breeze, horses grazing in a field. There are plenty of picturesque drives near Louisville. What if such a drive led you to not one, but two festivals, full of character and charm?

If you take a drive to Bardstown, KY, you’ll find exactly that this weekend. The annual Bardstown Arts, Crafts & Antiques Fair is paired with the Bardstown Craft Beer Festival. What a find at the end of a beautiful ride!

The Arts, Crafts & Antiques Fair will take over four streets in downtown Bardstown this weekend. It’s a great chance to enjoy the fall weather. Vendor booths will line the streets, displaying original artwork and crafts for sale. Many different mediums will be available to purchase. If you collect antiques, you may just find that missing piece in your collection.

A variety of entertainment will be on site. You can decorate a pumpkin, have your face painted, or even purchase a personalized caricature. Nothing will stop this festival, including the rain. If the forecast is a little dreary, grab your favorite umbrella and get out of the house for a quick stroll around the block.

No fall festival is complete without delicious festival food. This festival is no exception. You’ll find ribs, pork chop sandwiches and corn on the cobb for your main meal. But don’t fill up too fast, because you’ll want to save room for dessert. Caramel apples, deep fried Oreos and chocolate covered bacon are just a few of many choices. That’s right, chocolate covered bacon!

The Arts, Crafts & Antiques Fair is open Saturday, October 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Hours on Sunday, October 12th are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The festival is in downtown Bardstown, along Fourth and Fifth Streets at Flaget Avenue.

When the Arts, Crafts & Antiques Fair closes down for the day, take a quick walk to the Bardstown Craft Beer Festival. Literally down the street at the Bardstown Farmers Market Pavilion, this is the second year for this event.

A variety of craft beers will be available for you to try. Over thirty-four brews will be on the menu. Only those twenty-one and over will be granted admission. A valid id will be required to enter. Barbecue dinners will be provided by the Harrison-Smith House.

Bluegrass music rounds out the Bardstown Craft Beer Festival. The Misty Mountain String Band will perform live throughout the evening. Tickets are on sale for $30.00. To guarantee a spot, you can purchase your ticket prior to the event. The Bardstown Craft Beer Festival will take place Saturday, October 12th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Bardstown Farmers Market Pavilion is located at 200 East Flaget Avenue.
