Go-Kart Racing in Louisville

A good number of us associate certain activities with the summertime. Maybe some of us always play sand volleyball during the summer months, or we remember going to the arcade all the time when we were out of school. For a lot of Louisvillians, for a number of reasons, summertime reminds us of go-kart racing. It might sound random, but with all of the great go-kart establishments in the city, it's easy to see why go-kart racing is such an integral part to the Louisville experience.

With different go-kart destinations placed all over the city, no matter where you live in Louisville, a go-kart track usually isn't too far away. For example, when it comes to the Okolona and Shepardsville areas of Louisville, it's hard to meet someone who hasn't visited Kart Kountry. If it were just some run-of-the-mill go-kart and arcade center, the place wouldn't have such an enormous reputation. The enormous reputation matches the length of the track--Kart Kountry in Louisville, KY contains the largest go-kart track in the world. Specifically, the go-kart track is over 1.5 miles. That's a long race. This is one of the reasons why Kart Kountry is so popular--you really get your money's worth, because one lap around the track takes a good amount of time. While waiting for a go-kart to take around, visitors can also enjoy a miniature golf course and a huge arcade. It's an excellent place for birthday parties, but Kart Kountry isn't just for kids. Plenty of adults love going there as well. Visit anytime in the summer, and you'll see the track populated by adults and children alike.

If you're in the Jeffersonville area of Louisville, you've no doubt heard about Bluegrass Indoor Karting. The track at Kart Kountry may be the longest in the world, but Bluegrass Indoor Karting boasts an awesome indoor track and super-fast go-karts. Karts at Bluegrass Indoor Karting can go up to 40 miles-per-hour, and each kart is equipped with the safety features necessarily to keep each rider feeling comfortable about their race around the track. On TripAdvisor.com, a website where people can review attractions in their city, Bluegrass Indoor Karting holds the number fifteen spot in Louisville. Of all the places to visit in the entire city, holding a spot in the top twenty is pretty awesome!

For those in Middletown, there's no place better than Renaissance Fun Park. A go-kart track is only one of the features that the park has to offer. At Renaissance Fun Park, you can play miniature golf, laser tag, and the countless games in their arcade. The go-kart track here isn't nearly as long as the one at Kart-Kountry, and the karts aren't as fast as the karts at Bluegrass Indoor Karting, but the track has plenty of tight twists and turns that keep it interesting. Just because the track is shorter and the karts are slower doesn't mean that a couple of times around the twisting track at Renaissance Fun Park is a bore. In fact, for go-kart afficianados, it's the premiere place in Middletown for cart racing.

Kart Kountry is located at 315 Joe B. Hall Avenue. Bluegrass Indoor Karting can be found at 2520 Ampere Drive. For Renaissance Fun Park, just go to 201 Park Place Drive in Middletown.
