Redecorating your house--or planning something for a new house--can be a bit of a task. First of all, you have to have some idea before you go in with hammers and chainsaws. What are you going to do? Is there a theme you're trying to keep with? What function would you like each room to serve? The idea of decorating a space is fun, but there's a lot of work to do before you even pick up a power tool or a paint brush. For a lot of us, we need some kind of inspiration. If you are looking to decorate a space and need a fresh dose of inspiration, maybe you should check out Homearama 2013.
Your first question might be: what is Homearama? Some of the most talented designers and builders are assigned a home, and in this home they are allowed to let their imaginations run wild. Each designer and builder is given the task to decorate the home from top to bottom. Beautiful homes are worked on, gutted out, painted, and transformed into what many considered to be a huge piece of art. It is a great vehicle for designers, builders, and artists to get their names out there--and it's a great way for you to get ideas for that space in your home that's got you stumped.
There are two spots for this year's Homearama. The first spot is in the Locust Grove neighborhood, located in the Middletown area of Louisville. At the Locust Grove Homearama, you can expect to see eight homes all impecably designed by master designers. The second location for Homearama is the Rock Springs neighborhood, located in the Ballardsville area of the city. At Rock Springs you'll see ten gorgeous homes. Ticketing for Homearama varies--for admission into either the Locust Grove or Rock Springs Homearamas, it's ten dollars. Admission into both locations is only fifteen. If you have any kids to bring, children under twelve can visit the Homaramas for free. If you need inspiration for your own home or you simply want to see some awesome interior design, Homearama is definitely a fun outing for you and your entire family.
Homearama takes place from July 13th to the 23rd. Tickets for Homearama can be purchased at any Louisville Kroger location. If you have a Kroger card, tickets are two dollars off! For more information about Homearama, just click the following link: http://hbal.com/signature-events/homearama/.
