It’s official. Election campaign ads are gone, and in their place are holiday ads. Does the woman sprinting through Target on Black Friday look familiar? This year’s Black Friday ads are already surfacing online. I’ll admit it, I’ve already looked. And thus starts the shopping frenzy sure to ensue.
While some people like receiving gifts, I’ve always enjoyed the art of gift giving. It is an art after all, trying to find the perfect gift to give. Often times the best gifts don’t come with largest price tags or bows. Thoughtfulness is key, with bonus points awarded for creativity!
Parents are already trying to identify the hot toys for this season. Frozen anyone? It’s okay if you buy into the craze, I’m sure at least one gift under my tree will be a stuffed Olaf. The thing is though, Louisville has too many unique stores to choose from.

Another great store is Playthings Toy Shoppe. Here you’ll find high quality toys that are fun and educational. They specialize in toys for babies through thirteen years old. You’ll also find a great collection of unique games for the whole family.

A favorite children’s store in Louisville is The Parent-Teacher Store & Toys Too. Located at 1011 Westport Rd., this store has inventory that not only entertains but also challenges you to grow. There’s nothing better than a gift that is so fun, kids don’t even realize they are learning.
If you’re shopping for an avid reader, Carmichael’s Kids is now open! Located at 1313 Bardstown Rd., this spin off of Carmichael’s Bookstore is a great spot to find the perfect book. Children will be amazed at the number of books just for them. They’ll also enjoy special centers around the store.
