Louisville Events: February 24-27, 2015

It’s the start of the week again and everyone is busy with their own errands. Some go to work, some to school while others stay in their homes taking care of the kids and the household chores. You don’t have to wait for the weekend to do something eventful. Here’s what is happening around Louisville this week from February 24th to the 27th.

February 24:

Take your little ones out for a day filled with fun and socializing! The Louisville Science Center is opening their doors for kids who are aged 0-4 for an hour of FREE Play Date.   With their adult caregivers, guardians or parents, the kids can enjoy the whole place by themselves without any big kids in sight. Let them roam, investigate, build, experience and learn to play. This Play Date will have a repeat on February 28th and March 31st. The Louisville Science Center is located at 727 West Main Street.

How about treating your ears to some country music? American Aquarium is performing at 9:00pm in Zanzabar located at 2100 South Preston Street.  With the $10.00 entrance fee, you will have the pleasure of hearing the band play songs from their most critically acclaimed album Burn. Flicker. Die... and from their recently released album Wolves.

February 25:

Who doesn’t know the award winning Canadian band Nickelback? People from the 90s surely know them. And Louisville is having them over! Witness them at the KFC Yum! Center at 1 Arena Plaza. The concert starts at 8:00 pm. The ticket costs $80.00, $60.00, $40.00 or $25.00. Don’t let your chance pass to see this band who is one of the most commercially successful Canadian groups and who has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide.

February 26:

Have a hilarious Thursday evening at Impellizzeri's (Downtown) as the Backroom Comedy Show showcases Louisville’s hottest live stand-up comedy show. The show will start at 9:00 pm but the seating will start as early as 8:30 pm. The tickets are for $5.00. They will feature Louisville’s best rising comedians and established headliners. This is a weekly event so you may always catch them every Thursday when you just want to have a good laugh before the night ends.

February 27:

If you are interested in Bourbon, then here’s the perfect event for you. Maker’s Mark After Dark is gathering their Bourbon experts to explain and show the bourbon making process from grain to bottle. There will also be bourbon tastings and the tour concludes with Maker’s Mark® inspired cocktails and southern style appetizers. The tour will begin at 1:15 pm and will return at 7:30 pm and it will cost $199.00 per person.

Remember, weekday is a work day but you may always turn it into an exciting one even if it’s not a weekend. Planning on doing something new for the work week will keep you looking forward to that day and therefore will help you maintain balanced work life.
