Louisville Events: March 31, 2015 to April 3, 2015
Let’s start the week off with what events are happening in Louisville this week. To keep you busy with your kids, family or to just enjoy by yourself. Here’s the line-up for this week’s featured events.
March 31, 2015:
Do you have nothing planned this Tuesday? Take your kids out for a treat! The Louisville Science Center has a Free PlayDate for children ages 0-4 years old. Given that it’s a science center, your kids wouldn’t just be able to socialize and play with other kids, but they will also have a lot of learning experience. They will be free to roam without the big kids so they have the whole place for them to explore and enjoy! The good thing is it’s for free and there is no registration required. The play date will last for an hour so make sure you have your kids’ snack with you or better if you eat a big breakfast so your kids will have a lot of energy for this event. The Free PlayDate will start at 8:30 am and it’s located at 727 West Main Street.
April 1, 2015:
This is the start of the Child Abuse Prevention Month and we can help out with a meaningful kick off by joining the rally on Wednesday. The rally will be discussing about violence and neglect on children and child abuse. Also they will be discussing about the Family & Children’s Place and the Face It® Movement which is an organization and a program focused on preventing abuse and helping the survivors in healing the scar that the experience left. The rally will take place on the Big Four Bridge at Louisville Waterfront and will start at 11:00 am and end at 12:00 pm.
April 2, 2015:
Who doesn’t love a good laugh? Watch the famous comedienne Jerry Seinfield live at the Louisville Palace! Jerome Allen “Jerry” Seinfield is an American actor, comedienne, producer, and writer. The sitcom Seinfield starred Jerry Seinfield, where he portrays a semi-fictional character of himself. He also became a regular at Saturday Night Live from 1999 to 2013. Definitely he will never fail to make you laugh the night away with his talent which he has honed throughout his specialized career. The performance will start at 7:00 pm and the tickets are sold from $48.00 to $125.00.
April 3, 2015:
Get ready for a night of great music; get ready for Here Come the Mummies! They are not real mummies, although they do dress the part by sporting mummy costumes and full bandages. They are a funk band which is composed of very talented musicians originating from Nashville Tennessee. Rumors have it that some members are Grammy awards winners and they prefer to perform under wraps so they can avoid contract disputes as they are signed under various recording companies. What’s amusing is, they don’t even have real names for them, they do have designated mummy names though like Java Mummy, Mummy Rah, Mummy Cass, etc. The show will start at 8:30 pm and the tickets are $20.00. They will be performing at the Mercury Ballroom on 611 S. 4th Street.
Relaxing doesn’t only come in the weekends; you can also have fun during the weekdays. So check your calendars and you can do something meaningful and fun for yourself, for your family or for other people in your community.
