The Plainview Neighborhood of Louisville is located on the east end of Jefferson County, thirteen miles from downtown. The subdivision was one of the first planned in Louisville and sits on the site of a former 975 acre dairy farm called the Tway House. The old Tway Farmhouse now serves as the location for the Plainview Country Club and Plainview Swim and Tennis Center. 

The Plainview Neighborhood boasts a variety of traditional architectural styles. Most of Plainview's homes are made from brick or stone and the neighborhood also has an abundance of greenery, large yards, and tree-lined streets. One of Plainview's best attributes is its location. Located in the eastern part of Louisville off of Hurstbourne Parkway, Plainview is conveniently set near shopping, dining, and other community features like schools and libraries. The Lake Forest Subdivision in Louisville began development in the early 1980’s by the NTS Corporation and has now grown to over 1700 homes spread throughout 1200 acres. The neighborhood is located between Shelbyville and Old Henry Road in the eastern portion of Jefferson County. Its convenient 20 minute drive from downtown Louisville makes the community a desirable place to live for professionals and families alike. The Lake Forest Subdivision has lots of amenities to offer its residents, including a neighborhood clubhouse “lodge,” an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis and volleyball courts, 3 swimming pools, a nature trail, playgrounds, and a soccer field – all of which cater to diverse lifestyles and interests.  Lake Forest residents take an active role in their community, as the neighborhood has a community association complete with board of directors and support staff. This allows the neighborhood to hold events such as an “annual Easter egg hunt, 4th of July fireworks and celebration, Halloween party for children, visit with Santa, New Year’s Eve gala, bourbon tasting event, quarterly wine tasting events, comedy clubs, teen activities, neighborhood watch festivities, health, and beauty and financial seminars.

In addition, Lake Forest’s homes tend to hold their value longer and remain consistently priced. Homes in Lake Forest also tend to stay on the market for less time than the rest of Louisville, thus making it a relatively exclusive place to live.

Without a doubt the Lake Forest Subdivision is one of the best places to live in Louisville.

Today I have decided to write a review about one of my favorite restaurants in the Clifton Neighborhood of Louisville: Sari Sari. Last week I wrote a review of Come Back Inn in Germantown.

Sari Sari is a Filipino restaurant located off of historic Frankfort Ave in Clifton. The restaurant is open on Wed-Sat from 11:30-2:00 pm for lunch and on Tues-Sat from 5-9 pm for dinner. Sari Sari might be a small restaurant with only 6-8 tables, but its food packs a big taste at an affordable price. On Friday night there is a dinner buffet, where patrons can sample many different dishes during one setting. Also, the restaurant has great lunch specials at reasonable prices. Sari Sari has been featured in three different magazines:  'Southern Living,' 'Food and Wine,' and 'American Airlines' and in my opinion, lives up to its billing. Two of my favorite things to eat at Sari Sari are any soups that they make daily or pork adobo.

Lumpia
A Chinese inspired snack consisting of a mixture of vegetables inside an egg wrapper and lightly fried.$4.95

Pinatubo Pancake
An omlet stuffed with walnuts and bean sprouts. $5.50
