Navigating Black Friday in Louisville
Black Friday is almost a week away. Do you enjoy braving the masses to find that perfect gift? The stores are packed, lines are long and merchandise is everywhere. On the flip side, you can find some great deals if you’re looking to purchase a featured item. Some even enjoy getting out just to people watch. It’s certainly a great day for that!
The Louisville area is home to several shopping destinations. If you’ve never been shopping on Black Friday, you’ll want to come up with a plan. A quick search on the internet will turn up Black Friday ads that have already been leaked for this year’s sales.
The first step is deciding if there is anything you need to shop for on Black Friday. If you find yourself making a list, note what stores you want to visit. You’ll want to prioritize where you’re going and what stops are the most important. Make sure to note if any items are a part of time sensitive sales and order your stops accordingly.
Are the stores conveniently located near each other? This is important in determining what part of town you’re headed to. If you’re shopping for an outdoorsman, you may want to head to Cabela’s and then shop around The Paddock Shoppes and the Springhurst Towne Center. You’ll find a great variety of stores at these two outdoor shopping centers in the east end of Louisville.
Popular shopping malls in Louisville include the Oxmoor Mall and the Mall at St. Matthews. Located across the street from each other, you can visit a large quantity of stores in a short amount of time. Several outdoor shopping malls are close by as well. The Jefferson Mall is located in south central Louisville and also near additional outdoor shops.
As you’re making your Christmas list, consider visiting local stores this holiday season. You’ll find unique gifts and have the satisfaction of knowing that you’re supporting local businesses. You can do this by shopping at Westport Village or in NuLu along East Market St.
If you’re looking for a change, there are great shopping destinations just outside of Louisville. You can head across the river to Clarksville, IN on Black Friday. You’ll find the only Bass Pro around, as well as the Green Tree Mall, which just completed renovations. You can also head to Elizabethtown, KY on Black Friday. A smaller city within easy driving distance, you’ll find less people, but a large variety of stores to visit.
Many will buy for everyone on their shopping list on Black Friday. You may just enjoy sitting down on a park bench with a good cup of coffee, taking in the dramatic action as people rush around. If you brave the crowds, it can be a fun day with family or friends. Happy shopping!
