Rodney Carrington at the Louisville Palace

Planning a special night out can be hard, especially when you’ve been everywhere in the city a dozen times over. You want to have fun, release all the stress that’s slowly been building up for the last week. Every movie in the theater seems to be sad or ridiculous, and you know the menu by heart at nearly every restaurant in town. You just want a new experience. You need something to relieve the pressure of the daily grind, something that will lift your spirits and keep a smile on your face.

What you need is a good laugh, and luckily for you, Rodney Carrington just happens to be here in Louisville. If you aren’t familiar with that name, it’s time to get acquainted. This Texan singer-songwriter has sold over 2 million copies with his eight comedy albums, and has been going strong with his stand up routine for nearly twenty years. Some of those amazingly hilarious tunes include “Don’t Look Now”, “Dancin’ With A Man”, and “Show Them To Me”, and he’s sure to play them, along with many other hits, on his North American “Laughter’s Good” tour. You’ll also get to hear parts of his side-splitting stand up.

Not only has Carrington made a name for himself on stage and in the record business, he is also an actor with quite a few gigs under his belt. He starred in his own sitcom, Rodney, on ABC for two seasons, as well as a comedy sketch music video for his song “If I’m The Only One” back in 2009, a song which debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Comedy Music charts. In addition, he was the co-writer for the film Beer For My Horses with Toby Keith, and the co-star, too. He even won a CMT Music Video Award in 2008 for “Supporting Character of the Year” after co-starring in Trace Adkin’s music video “I Got My Game On”.

Carrington’s act is for mature audiences only, so make sure to find a babysitter for the kids before you buy your tickets. When you do purchase tickets, you may do so here: The Louisville Palace is the place to be this weekend. Treat yourself to a night out, one full of fun and laughter. You can never laugh to much, and with a comedian as entertaining as Rodney Carrington, it’ll be hard to stop!

When: Saturday, January 19th at 8pm

Where: The Louisville Palace, 625 S. 4th Street, Louisville, KY 40202
