Anchorage Homes for Sale
Located in eastern Jefferson County along LaGrange Road, Anchorage is home to about 850 residences and 3,000 people. Despite the substantial growth that Louisville suburbs have seen in the past several decades, this city has managed to maintain a lot of its community feel and character. Being less than 20 miles away from downtown Louisville, this community has an abundance of small town charm while being close to a major metropolitan city. Anchorage is known for having a park-like setting with many mature trees, whose shade makes the city noticeably cooler than nearby Louisville in the summer. Anchorage is also known for being home to some of Louisville’s wealthiest citizens. One such resident was Issac Wolfe Bernheim, known for the I. W. Harper brand of bourbon and his philanthropy. Also, the founder of Papa John’s Pizza, John Schnatter, makes his year-around home in Anchorage and owns about 6% of the land there.
